In the absence of the cold war environment, the emphasis on “political security“ has decreased and this has led to a concomitant increase in the direction of „economic security“. This trend is highlighted by the development of regional economic groupings and their increasing interaction with each other. Common prospects and problems that these organizations face are important in understanding the dynamic evolution of these groups.
