In this paper we investigate the development of the world market prices for primary commodities from 1961 to 1982 using World Bank and IMF data. Linear semi-Iogarithmic regression equations with trend and dummy variables are used to estimate the growth rate and the fluctuation of prices for primary commodities as well as the effects of the oil crisis in 1974. The estimated growth rates and the fluctuations of the prices are used for further research. For example, correlations between growth rates and fluctuation of the prices are calculated.
