The Journal for Development Policy (JEP) is a peer-reviewed journal. All articles are reviewed anonymously (double-blind, peer-reviewed).
The editorial board is interdisciplinary, and the interdisciplinary approach to phenomena, problems and structures of “development” forms the methodological and content-related core of the JEP. Articles that remain limited to one discipline are welcome if they can be understood by non-specialist and scientifically educated readers.
The editorial team aims to disseminate socially relevant knowledge about development issues and development policy. The focus here is on understanding complex structures. Articles on specific projects, practical solutions or obstacles to development cooperation are welcome if they are reflections that explicitly take into account a development-theoretical justification and the social context of a specific project or measure. From this critical stance, a debate on official development cooperation positions should be sought. Descriptive individual accounts in this area will only be included in the commentary process.
We expect our authors to present their scientific findings in a comprehensible form so as not to reduce the readership of the JEP to the narrowest circle of (specialist) scientific experts from the outset. All articles must meet this criterion.
The editorial team aims to promote young scientists and offers support by providing comments and positive criticism beyond the usual framework, aiming to contribute to the stimulation of discussions on development theory through this support.
