The Journal für Entwicklungspolitik is an academic journal that provides a forum for critical discussion of development policy issues in the German-speaking world. The JEP is published four times a year with articles in German and English.
The individual issues are dedicated to a main topic, supplemented by reviews of new development policy publications and free contributions. The editorial team aims to publish high-quality articles that meet international standards. Freely submitted articles are welcome, but can only be included in accordance with the space requirements of the respective focus section.
The journal publishes articles in German and English; the maximum length of an article is 47,000 characters including spaces, abstract, endnotes and complete bibliography (the length varies depending on the number of articles in a special issue).
The maximum length for reviews is 5,000 characters.

II. Additional guidelines for reviews
The Journal für Entwicklungspolitik is interested in publishing reviews aimed at an interdisciplinary and international readership in the field of critical development studies (see editorial statutes). For suggestions, please contact the production management.
Before submission, the review must be confirmed by the production management. Review proposals are welcome. Reviews must be submitted within six weeks of receipt of the book.
Form requirements for reviews are the same as for articles. The maximum length for reviews is 5,000 characters.
III. Deadlines
The editorial deadline for issue no. 1 is 31.10., for issue no. 2 31.1., for issue no. 3 30.4. and for issue no. 4 31.7. Please note the lead time for a refereed journal.
The JEP is a peer-reviewed journal. All articles submitted are read and commented on by members of the editorial board. Editorial meetings usually take place once per quarter.
